Mental
Health/Psychiatry-
Psychological and psychiatric treatment and counseling
services, to individuals with a diagnosed mental
illness, conducted in a group or individual setting, and
provided by a mental health professional licensed, or
authorized with the State to render such services. This
typically includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and
licensed clinical social workers.

Home
Health Care-
Services are provided in accordance with a written,
individualized plan of care established by a case
management team that includes appropriate health care
professionals. Services to include, therapeutic,
nursing, support and/or compensatory health services
provided by a licensed home health agency in a
home/residential setting. Ryan White does not currently fund this service.
Hospice-
Services include; nursing, counseling, bereavement,
supportive and/or compensatory palliative health
services by a licensed agency for patients in their
terminal stages of the illness. Services will be
provided [in a] home/residential setting in accordance
with a written individualized plan of care established
by interdisciplinary team that includes appropriate
health care professionals and volunteers.

Skilled
Nursing/Housing-
The provision of short-term assistance to support
temporary or transitional housing (from
hospital-independent living) that provides 24 hr.
skilled nursing care to enable individual or family to
gain or maintain care. Related housing may be in
medical treatment programs for chronically ill clients,
specialized short/long term housing, and transitional
housing for clients who are in need of 24-hour skilled
care.

Substance Abuse-
Provision of treatment, prevention and/or counseling to
address substance abuse (alcohol, legal & illegal drugs)
problems in a outpatient or residential health service
setting. Non-infected individuals who are in the HIV
infected persons support system may also receive
assistance, as long as the services have at least
indirect benefit to a person with HIV infection.

Psychosocial Support Services-
Services consist of services, which support traditional
medical approaches by enhancing quality of life,
improving stress response, and promoting healthy
lifestyle behaviors. Services must be referred through
the primary care provider.
This service formerly provided by SAAF has been suspended.
Family
Support Services-
Services for families with children infected/affected by
HIV/AIDS to include transportation, foster care,
daycare/early childhood education, respite services and
adoption/legal service, if not available in the
community.
Nutritional Counseling-
Provision of nutrition education and/or counseling
provided by a licensed/registered dietitian outside of a
primary care visit.
