The Ryan White Planning Council
is the San Antonio Area HIV Health Services Planning Council [hereinafter called the Ryan White Council, the Planning Council, or just the Council].  

The geographical area covers Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Wilson Counties.
 
   The Council reports to the Administrative Agency, the Bexar County Department of Community Investment, Division of Community Health, who administers the grant awards and provides oversight.
 
 Mission Statement: "To create a broad-based community response to the HIV epidemic affecting people within the Eligible Metropolitan Area and to ensure the availability and coordination of high quality, comprehensive health and social services to individuals infected or affected by HIV."

Who are the Council?
The Council is comprised of affected members of the community, representatives of Service Organizations and governmental agencies that have an interest in dealing with the AIDS.  Members are elected for two-year terms and must participate in monthly committee meetings as well as Council meetings. 

When are the meetings?
All committee meetings are regularly scheduled for Thursday of the first week of the month-- except the Caucus, which is on Friday.  The Executive Committee meets on the Monday following the Thursday committee meetings.  The Planning Council's regularly scheduled meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  Unless otherwise advertised, all meetings will be held at:

All Council and committee meetings are open to the public. If you are HIV positive, you are encouraged to attend these meetings so you can express your opinion, to see where-- and to whom-- the money goes.
